    * Improv @ AWPL Acting for a Change Senior Improvisational Theater group invites you to join them on Saturday, February 17 at AWPL for a "Play in a Day" workshop and performance.  Director Linda Richmond will lead participants in developing characters and scenarios from imagination and experience to improvise a play.  No prior acting experience necessary; no lines to learn!  To be an Improv actor and join the workshop, please call Kathleen G. at 986-1047, ext. 5.  To attend the 3:00pm performance, register here

    * Chasing Heroin:  join us on Friday, February 23 at 7:00pm for a screening of the 2-hour PBS Frontline documentary Chasing Heroin.  It tells the stories of individual addicts and illuminates the epidemic's social context, examines shifting U.S. drug policy, and explores what happens when addiction is treated like a public health issue, not a crime.     * College Scholarships:  the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation is delighted to announce its 12th annual college scholarship essay competition, open to any high school senior who resides in the Warwick Valley Central School District.  Please find the topic, guidelines and submission deadline here.
