|A great deal of what we know
about Warwick history has been passed down in stories and memoirs. Memoirs are in part primary sources,
recorded by eyewitnesses to the actual events. While not considered “facts” in the sense
of documents or objects, oral traditions more often than now contain factual
material, which we attempt to verify through other sources.
|For instance, the story of
the witch “Penelope” has been handed down by several sources.
