Limited Edition Prints of Old-Time Warwick for sale

Old Warwick Station

A Limited edition print of old-time Warwick by local artist Carole Constant, is available for sale at the Albert Wisner Public Library, 2 Colonial Avenue, Warwick, NY.
This print, done in a whimsical, folk-art style, is based on historical research. The richly colored, highly detailed painting, which celebrates life in 19th Century Warwick, is the latest in Carole Constant's Orange County series.
The painting portrays the noontime excitement surrounding the original Warwick train station, with the arrival of the coal burning, steam locomotive on a summer day in 1886. The scene includes the bustle of visitors staying at the National Hotel, the carriages, delivery wagons, the excited children, and a railroad worker preparing to load milk cans and produce from local Warwick farmers onto the train for shipment to market in New York City.
The print is available, both framed and unframed, and part of the proceeds of prints purchased at the library will be donated to the new Albert Wisner Public Library Building Fund.

Apple Hill Farm
When Warwick's first homesteaders, Johannes and Elizabeth Wisner, reached the Wawayanda Territory (part of a 1703 land grant to Benjamin Aske - later called Warwick) in 1712, they saw in its beautiful untouched lakes and forests a fertile land of milk and honey; the perfect place to start a farm and raise a family. Appropriately, tradition has it, they settled in the Mt. Eve area of Edenville.
They were the first of the many generations of Warwick farmers to plant orchards, tend herds, cultivate gardens, and make Warwick one of the most productive dairy and agricultural regions in the northeast. On the gently rolling hills their generations built houses and barns; fenced in livestock with split rails, and defined their fields with miles of stonewalls.
This fanciful scene of Warwick, circa 1880, shows a farmer, his wife and children surrounded by the bounty of the fall harvest. Life was good - the dreams of the first settlers had come to fruition.
This richly colored, highly detailed painting, done in a whimsical folk- art style, and celebrating life in 19th century Warwick, is the latest in Carole Constant's Orange County series. This edition is limited to 200 copies.

Village of Warwick
In addition to the above prints, there is also a print of the Village of Warwick available for sale, also done by Carole Constant. This print is done in the same style as the ones above.
