Hans Niederstrasser of the Friends of Long Pond Ironworks (Hewitt, NJ) will present his search for information about Peter Hasenclever, the German businessman who began operating the iron works at Long Pond in 1764. Niederstrasser and the late C. J. Prol spent fourteen years translating Hasenclever's German-language biography and travelling to Europe and South America to find rare documents. Their book "Peter Hassenclever" has recently been published by the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society.  Copies will be available for signing and sale.

Sue Gardner will present new research about Warwick and the Revolutionary War, in celebration of Henry Wisner, Sr.'s arriving at Philadelphia to sit as a delegate to the First Continental  Congress.  Henry Wisner, Sr. was born and raised at Mt. Eve within what later became the Town of Warwick, and as an adult moved to the Village of Goshen.

Come one, come all to the Warwick Children's Book Festival!  Find the Festival at Stanley-Deming Park or, in the case of rain, the Warwick Valley Middle School at 225 West Street.  The festival will feature more than 70 distinguished authors and illustrators of books for children, who will be on hand to meet families, talk with readers, and sign their books, which will be available for purchase.  The Uncle Brothers will perform a free children's concert beginning at noon.  Food trucks and a children's craft activity will round out the fun.
