For each threat the Hudson River has ever faced, there’s always been a proportional force working to protect it. A cast of characters ranging from sailors to farmers to citizen-scientists emerge as heroes, tirelessly defending “America’s first river.”  Join Jon Bowermaster for a screening of The Living River and Seeds of Hope, followed by discussion.

Rag Rugs with Kate Vitiello

Learn how to make a traditional, braided rag rug.  Rag rugs are a great way to use up and repurpose recycled fabrics like old T-shirts.   In this class you will learn expert tips on how to properly prepare (shred /cut) the recycled fabric into strips and connect them to make one continuous “yarn” for braiding into a rug.  All materials will be provided.  Feel free to bring your own T-shirts for a more personalized feel to your rug.
