Join us for a viewing of the new film by Stephen Chboskey. Afterward, Mary Krauze will lead a discussion of The Perks of Being a Wallflower for teens in high school and up. Please read the book prior to this event. Copies will be available at the Circulation Desk in May. Parental permission is required for those under 18. Please ask at the Help Desk for details.
Need a place to meet for group study? Come to the library for an after hours group study event! We'll be open late just for teens studying for the Regents exams. Copies of practise exams will be made available, but bring your own study materials. Pizza and snacks will be served.
Those who participated in Learn to Knit will continue on to Part Two in this 4 week course. Yarn will be provided, but you must supply your own size 8 knitting needles.
Focusing on vegetables that thrive in hot weather, Gar will give practical tips on proper watering technique, natural fertilizers and companion planting. She will also examine the uses of successive planting to increase productivity and to extend harvest.
Introduction to the joys and rewards of beekeeping. Topics include equipment, how and where to start, bee colony basics, plants for bees and a "bee pasture." Presenters are members of the Southeastern Beekeeper's Club.
