Peter Reiner and Aaron Schoenberg, members of the Adirondack Mountain Club, are both avid hikers of the ADK North Jersey Ramapo Chapter.  "The Joys of Hiking" will discuss how to get started in hiking as well as information on the numerous trails located in the lower Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey areas.  They will also describe the  hiking trails in Sterling Forest, Harriman Park, Bear Mountain Park and Black Rock Forest.  Various equipment - back packs, hiking boots, hiking poles, maps, outdoor clothing - will also be discussed.  A question-and-answer sessi

"Orange County Roots" Photojournalism Workshop

An overview of the photojournalistic process used to create the Orange County Roots project and photographs that depict the people, trades and crafts that have existed in Orange County over the last century and still exist today.  This endeavor preserves in images the culture, work ethic and the people that still labor in a manner as they have for many generations.

The workshop explores the project, its intent, the photojournalistic approach, the subjects and the photographer.  The photographs and book that are part of this project will also be shown.
