E-Readers @ AWPL

Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony E-Reader and Amazon Kindle

Albert Wisner Public Library is pleased to offer two Nooks, two Sony e-readers and two Kindles for use by AWPL cardholders only.  The e-readers are packaged with all necessary components for using them, as well as with instructions and lists of the books loaded onto them. Each e-reader has more than a dozen titles on it including fiction, non-fiction and biographies.  Patrons can search the online Library catalog for our e-readers by using the search term "e-book reader" and selecting one of three records that will appear -- one each for the Nook, the Sony and the Kindle.  Patrons will then be able to check the e-readers' availability and place holds.

Please note the following terms under which the e-readers circulate:

a.  E-readers must be checked out at the Help Desk and may be kept for two (2) weeks.

b.  Please treat the e-reader and its accessories with care.  Upon returning an e-reader, please check it in at the Circulation Desk.  Please do not return it to another RCLS library, nor drop it off in any library's outside drop-box after hours. 

c.  An e-reader will not be checked in and cleared from your account unless/until all of the accessories listed on the box have been returned.

d.  Overdue fines are $1.00/day.

e.  To place a hold on an e-reader, click here to go to the online catalog.  There, select the type of e-reader you're interested in and click "place hold" to the right.  On the following screen, enter your library card barcode and PIN.  Follow on-screen prompts from there.
