E-Readers and Tablets

Albert Wisner Public Library is pleased to offer e-readers, pre-loaded with a wide selection of books, and Internet-enabled tablets for patrons to check out.  Options include Nooks, Nook Tablets, Kindles, Kindle Fires.

These devices circulate under the following conditions:

> They may be checked out for two weeks.

> Holds are permitted, as are renewals (provided there are no other patron holds.)

> No additional material (books, videos, apps, magazines or other content) may be downloaded to any device.  Any unauthorized purchases found on a device will be charged to the patron's account.  Upon checking out a device, patrons are asked to sign a form acknowledging and accepting this condition.

> Pick-up and return of all devices is at the AWPL Help Desk only.  Under no circumstances should they be returned to another library, nor to this or any library's outside book drop.

> All items enclosed or included with the device - charger, instruction booklet, case - must be returned together.  The device will not be checked in and cleared from the patron's account until all items are returned.  As with other Library materials, patrons are responsible for the full replacement cost of devices lost or damaged beyond repair.
