The dedication of the River Birch Performance and Reading Patio will preceed this production at 12:30pm.  Refreshments will be served.

This haunting tragedy begs the devastating question:  where should a young man turn when his father is killed, his mother remarries, and the life he knew has been taken from him?  At its heart, HAMLET is a play about young men and women struggling with the inescapable feeling that they don't fit into the world around them.  Join us and experience Prince Hamlet's iconic story of murder and madness!  Followed by a talk-back with the actors.

Outside seating is unlimited (please bring a lawn chair or blanket) but registration is required.  IF THE WEATHER IS GOOD, ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND, INCLUDING THOSE WHO HAVE REGISTERED AND ARE WAITLISTED.  In case of rain, the performance will be held indoors and the first 80 registrants will be seated.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's production of HAMLET is part of Shakespeare in American Communities, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.  This performance was made possible by a generous gift to the AWPL Foundation by Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes.
