Coordinated quarterly by the Library, the Village of Warwick and Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe, the Warwick Cafe Reading Project puts multiple free copies of the same book in cafes around Warwick. The book is intended to stimulate conversation and a shared community reading experience. The project is underwritten by the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation.
For Fall 2018, a mix of five titles - chosen from among the list of most frequently banned and challenged books of 2017 - are in the cafes: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. You will find copies of the books at Caffe a la Mode, Noble Pies Cafe, Edenville General Store, Conscious Fork and Tuscan Cafe. After reading any of the books, please either pass along your copy to a friend or family member or return it to a participating cafe. Thank you, and keep reading!
