Learn & Understand Your 10 –30 Year Risk
of Developing Heart Disease
This program is appropriate for adults of all ages.
Heart disease continues to be the number one killer of both men and women. Maintaining Ideal Cardiac Health is an interactive discussion on cardiac risk factors and maintenance of cardiac health, with Dr. Gerard Freisinger.
●Certified St. Anthony lab technicians will be available to draw blood for good cholesterol levels (no need to fast).
●Blood pressure measurements and fasting glucose levels will also be available.
(Note that for a fasting blood sugar, one should not eat or drink anything but water for eight hours before a blood test.)
If you know your recent fasting blood sugars and cholesterol profiles, bring your numbers to the program.
●An online risk calculator will be discussed and analyzed by Dr. Freisinger. This calculator can determine 10- to 30-year risk of developing adverse cardiac events.
Participants will have the opportunity to enter their data into the calculator and determine their cardiac risk.

Reading Together Program: Do you have children between the ages of 9 and 11? Would you like to spend more time reading and discussing books as a family? Then the Together program is for you. Join us for this six-session program where 9 and 11 year-olds and their parents get together to talk about books and ideas. Books, snacks and activities for younger siblings are all provided at each session. We will be focusing on three themes: (2 books for each theme) Being American, Courage and Freedom. Three picture books and three novels will be read. The picture books are La Mariposa, Martin's Big Words and the Girl Who Loved Wild Horses. The novels are Letters from Rifka, Shiloh, and The Friendship. Books will be loaned to each child and adult that registers. In order to ensure a successful program, attendance at all six sessions is required.
