Celebrate the 2013 baseball season opener - visit "First Pitch" in the Library's Community Room through the month of April.
On April 23rd from 6:30 to 7:45pm James Amore will meet with visitors to his exhibit, which features limited edition signed prints from digitally-produced masters of the originals as well as original watercolors. The artist created these over a 20-year period working in the sports industry. All of the pieces celebrate the players and the game of baseball.
Many of baseball's icons are here: Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Thurman Munson, Johnny Podres, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, Roberto Clemente - to mention just a few.

Combining the spirit of Earth Day and National Poetry Month, poet Mary Makofske will read here thirteen part poem, "An Inward Bruise" accompanied by whale song, music and photos of these magnificent creatures. "An Inward Bruise" won the Lullwater Review Poetry Prize and appears in Traction (Ashland Poetry Press), Makofske's latest book and winner of the Richard Snyder Prize.
