Welcome to Three Pines, where the cruelest month is about to deliver on its threat. It's spring in the tiny, forgotten village; buds are on the trees and the first flowers are struggling through the newly thawed earth. But not everything is meant to return to life. . ....When some villagers decide to celebrate Easter with a séance at the Old Hadley House, they are hoping to rid the town of its evil---until one of their party dies of fright. Was this a natural death, or was the victim somehow helped along?

Brilliant, compassionate Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Sûreté du Québec is called to investigate, in a case that will force him to face his own ghosts as well as those of a seemingly idyllic town where relationships are far more dangerous than they seem.

“...the shadow of a wife...”: Who was Mrs. Shakespeare? …delves into the life of the Shakespeares from the perspective of day-to-day life for families in the late 1500s into early 1600s England.

Joanne  Zipay will explore what little is known about Anne Hathaway, the woman who was married to history’s greatest dramatist. What kind of a relationship existed in their 34 years of marriage, as she was at their home raising the three children in Stratford-Upon-Avon while he worked in the London theatre?  Their wedding was quickly arranged. She was 25 and he was 18. Did William Shakespeare love his wife?  Did he include her in his writing? And finally, a modern-day concept will be bridged: “How has modern feminist scholarship given us new perspectives on ‘traditional’ ideas about Anne Hathaway Shakespeare?”

Be sure to attend this discussion as a preface to the play performance of “Shakespeare’s Will” on Friday, December 9th at 7pm.
