Book Hipsters will meet to discuss and suggest books. New members are always welcome.
The Parting Glass will perform an evening of song and music celebrating the Irish Rebellion of 1916. Copies of Morgan Llywelyn's historical novel, 1916, will be available at the Library for all those interested in reading about this pivotal point in Irish history.
Learn everything you need to know to be a great babysitter in this four hour course for ages 12 and up. Bring a notebook, pen or pencil, a bagged lunch, and a snack. Certificates will be awarded to all who complete the course.
At 2pm Barbara Crooker will read a selection of her poems.
At 3pm She will also conduct a poetry workshop for both novice and experienced writers.

Barbara Crooker’s work has been read many times by Garrison Keillor on “The Writer’s Almanac.” Her books are Radiance (Word Press), Line Dance (Word Press), More (C&R Press), and, most recently, Gold (Cascade Books). She was a finalist for the 2012 Pablo Neruda Poetry Prize, and her work appears in The Bedford Introduction to Literature. Barbara read and led a workshop at the library previously and is back for a return engagement.
Author and POW Harvey S. Horn, Flight Officer with the 15th Air Force, 463rd Bomber Group, discusses his plane crash and capture by the Germans in World War II which are recounted in his 2010 book, Goldfish-Silver Boot: the story of a World War II Prisoner of War.
