Warwick Cafe Reading Project

Coordinated quarterly by the Library, the Village of Warwick and Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe, the Warwick Cafe Reading Project puts multiple free copies of the same book in cafes around Warwick.  The book is intended to stimulate conversation and a shared community reading experience.  The project is entirely underwritten by the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation.

For Summer 2018, a mix of five titles - chosen from among the 100 in PBS's Great American Read - are in the cafes:  Alice Walker's The Color Purple; Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City; John Irving's A Prayer for Owen Meany; John Kennedy Toole's A Confederancy of Dunces, and Amy Tan's The Joy Luck Club.  You will find copies of the books at Caffe a la Mode, Noble Pies Cafe, Edenville General Store, Conscious Fork, Jean-Claude's Patisserie and Tuscan Cafe.  After reading any of the books, please either pass along your copy to a friend or family member or return it to a participating cafe.  Thank you, and keep reading!
