There is an Irish legend of a fairy tree. Fairy tree is a tree in the middle of a field and it is said that if you cut it down your family will die out. People to this day still believe this legend.
My uncle was walking one day in one of his fields and he found a fairy tree. He cut it down and his first child just so happened to be a girl. But then he had three more girls! Of course, he didn’t mind, he loved all his children, but every father wants at least one boy to carry on the family name. Then one day he came across another fairy tree on his newly cleared field. He helped it and nurtured it and then he had a son. So that is the legend of the fairy tree.
