The Library is delighted to welcome groups created around a particular interest or hobby. These groups are informal, ongoing, non-instructional, free and open to all without registration.
a) Mah-Jongg: meets Friday afternoons at 3:00 in the Community Room.
b) Prose Writer's Group: meets Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 in the Board Room.
c) Prose Writer's Group - Zoom edition: some of the Prose Writer's Group meets weekly on Zoom instead of in person. The Zoom group would like to invite more people to participate. If sharing and collaborating on Zoom with other writers interests you, please call Siobhan O'Riordan @ AWPL (845.986.1047, ext. 5) for more information.
d) Caring Crafters: meets weekly on Thursdays, 1:00pm-3:00pm in the Community Room or Gallery, to work on monthly themed projects.
e) Walking with Books Group: meets on Saturdays at 10:00am to walk throughout the nearby area and talk. Gather near the Library's front door. Parents/caregivers with infants and strollers are welcome - the route can be adapted for your needs.
f) Book Discussion Groups:
Science Book Group: meets the 3rd Monday of the month at 11:00 in the Community Room. (Note: January/February 2022 meetings will be on Zoom.)
Thursday Morning Book Club: meets on Zoom on the 4th Thursday of the month at 10:00am.
Sustainable World Book Club: meets on Zoom on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3:00pm.
Millennial Book Group (for people in their 20s and 30s): meets in person on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm.
Non-Fiction Book Group: meets in person on the 1st Thursday of the month at 2:00pm.
Tuesday Evening Book Group: meets on Zoom on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm.
