The Library’s Museum Pass Program is funded by a generous contribution to the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation by longtime Library benefactors Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes.

Notes:
New York State residents are eligible to apply for a library card from the New York Public Library (NYPL). With an NYPL card, you may take advantage of the Culture Pass program, which offers free admission to many cultural sites around the city (in addition to some listed below.)
9/11 Memorial Museum: Free, expedited admission to the Museum for two adults and two children (17 and under). Memorial open Daily 8am - 8pm. Museum open Wednesday - Monday 9am - 7pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
Boscobel House and Gardens: *House tours are currently suspended until further notice. Check the Boscobel website for more information.* this pass offers free admission for up to 4 guests. Additional children ages 12 and under are also admitted for free. Closed January through March.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden: each pass admits two adults and accompanying children ages 17 and under. Closed Mondays and major holidays; check the BBG website for details.
Children's Museum of Manhattan: Open Wednesday - Sunday, 10am-5pm. Timed entry passes required. Use membership #27718 when making a reservation online at cmom.org, then bring the Library's museum pass with you to present along with your CMOM e-ticket (on your phone.)
Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum: Each pass admits one adult and any children under 18 years of age. Open Wednesday–Monday, 10 am to 6 pm, closed Tuesdays.
Dia: Beacon: this pass offers free admission to the bearer plus 4 additional guests. Dia Beacon is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am-5pm.
Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center: this pass admits up to 2 adults and 4 children. Open Thursdays & Fridays, 1-5 and Saturdays & Sundays 12-5. Also open Wednesdays 1-5 May 8th through November.
Empire State Pass: The Empire Pass provides unlimited day-use vehicle entry to most facilities operated by New York State Parks and the State Dept. of Environmental Conservation including forests, beaches, trails and more. Check the website for a complete list of eligible State parks, which include Bear Mountain, Harriman, Jones Beach, Minnewaska, Robert Moses, Niagara Falls and many more! The Library has two Empire State Passes to lend.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum (at Hyde Park): No need to make a reservation for this pass; it is a single-use pass and does not need to be returned to AWPL. Each pass offers free admission for any size family. Guests must present AWPL library card along with pass. The pass is not valid for the FDR Mansion, which is managed separately by the National Park Service.
Frick Collection: The Frick Collection is temporarily closed while the collection is returned to its permanent Fifth Avenue home. The Fifth Avenue building has been under renovation and expansion. The museum will reopen in late 2024.
Grey Towers National Historic Site: Each pass admits one adult for a mansion tour. Please confirm available tour hours before reserving the pass at www.fs.usda.gov/main/greytowers/visitgreytowers.
Hudson Highlands Nature Center: each pass admits two adults and accompanying children; the Library has two passes. Hiking trails are open daily from dawn to dusk. The Grasshopper Grove is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am - 3:45pm for 45-minute play sessions. Pre-registration is free and strongly recommended; walk-ins welcome as space permits. The Wildlife Education Center (WEC) is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-4pm. Pre-registration is free and recommended for 50-minute sessions (12-12:50; 1:00-1:50; 2:00-2:50; 3:00-3:50.) To pre-register for either Grasshopper Grove or WEC, call (845) 534-5506 on Mondays from 12-3 or Tuesdays-Fridays from 10-3. Once you have pre-registered, ensure your free admission by reserving the one of Library's Hudson Highlands Nature Museum passes online or call the Help Desk at (845) 986-1047, ext. 3.
Hudson River Maritime Museum: each pass admits one family. Museum is open Thursday through Sunday, 11am-5pm.
Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum Complex: this pass is good for up to 6 adults and 6 children, entering once per day. (Cost for additional tickets is discounted to $18/adult, $13/child.) Please bring your AWPL card with you as additional ID. This pass covers the Intrepid aircraft carrier, the Space Shuttle Pavilion and the Growler submarine. Other features and exhibits may have separate fees not included with pass. Museum open daily, 10am-5pm; last entry at 4pm.
Liberty Science Center: present your AWPL library card at the box office for a discount of 10% off admission. (The Center does not offer a library museum pass for free admission.)
Mohonk Preserve: each pass provides one adult admission. Ages 15 and under are admitted for free (no pass needed) and must be accompanied by an adult. Must present pass at Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center or at any Mohonk Preserve Trailhead to obtain a required wristband. The Preserve is open year 'round 9am-5pm daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve after 12:00, Christmas and New Year's Day. The pass does not provide parking or admission at Mohonk Mountain House nor at Minnewaska State Park.
Motorcyclepedia Museum: this pass admits two people. Kids 16 and under enter for free. Museum open Thursdays, 4:00pm-8:00pm and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 10:00am-4:00pm.
Museum of Modern Art (MoMA): 2 passes available. Each provides entrance for the cardholder and up to four guests. The museum is open daily 10:30am-5:30pm except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mondays are reserved exclusively for museum members, including Library members.
Museum at Bethel Woods: this pass offers free admission for 4 people, once a day. The museum is open 7 days/week, 10am-5pm, including Labor Day and Columbus Day. Sensory-friendly dates: Every 2nd Saturday/month, April-December, from 9am-10:30am. The pass does not provide admission to concerts held at Bethel Woods.
New-York Historical Society Museum and Library: this pass provides free entrance for 2 adults living at the same residence and up to four children under age 18. Open Wednesdays through Sundays.
New York Transit Museum: this pass offers free admission to 2 adults and up to 4 children. The museum is open Thursdays - Sundays, 10am - 4pm. If you'd prefer to make a reservation, FIRST call the AWPL Help Desk at 986-1047, ext. 4 to obtain the library's special discount code for the museum. Then, visit nytransitmuseum.org to reserve complimentary tickets and apply the discount code at checkout. Once you have the complimentary tickets, you can display them on a phone or present printed copies upon entry. Or, you can simply reserve the library's membership card and pick it up from the library to bring to the museum.
Olana: this pass offers free admission to 2 adults for landscape walking, main house, and current exhibition tours. Children 12 and under are admitted for free, but must be included in the reservation when calling. Reservations are required. To make a reservation, call the AWPL Help Desk at 986-1047, ext.4, for more information.
Opus 40: this pass admits one family of any size. Please check Opus 40's website to verify its opening hours before reserving the Library's pass.
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum: this pass entitles entrance for 4 adults. Children under age 12 enter for free. Please bring your AWPL library card with you for extra identification. Open 7 days a week; check website for hours.
Storm King Art Center: this pass offers free admission for up to six people in one vehicle (children 5 and under need not be included in the count.) Storm King is an outdoor venue.
Westchester Children's Museum: this pass admits 4 people, at least one of whom must be an adult. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Check website for hours.
The Library's policies regarding use of museum passes (other than Morahan Beachfront Park & Mountain Lake Park Pool):
- Passes may be reserved and checked out by Albert Wisner Public Library adult cardholders only.
- Passes are loaned for two (2) nights. For example, a pass checked out on a Monday morning is due back on Wednesday at the Library's closing time.
- Passes are not renewable.
- A maximum of three (3) passes may be checked out on a given library card at a time.
- Passes must be returned zipped into the special pouch provided. The pouch may be placed in the outside book drop or the indoor book return slot.
- The overdue fine for passes is $10/day. Please make sure to verify the due date when checking out a pass. If you are unable to return the pass on time, please let us know promptly at the Help Desk: (845) 986-1047, ext. 4.
- Patron may be responsible for the cost of replacing a lost pass.
