Archaeologist Edward J. Lenik will present material from his new book, Ramapough Lenape Heritage. The book focuses on the evidence of continuous indigenous occupation uncovered from early 20th century explorations by amateur archaeologists to the careful, scientific excavations and analyses of the late 20th and early 21st century professionals. Much of the material in this book can be found only in cultural resource studies filed in New York and New Jersey state repositories. Mr. Lenik has studied this area for fifty years, publishing several books as evidence and understanding has grown. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.
