We will discuss Susan Vreeland's New York Times 2012 bestselling novel, Clara and Mr. Tiffany. Clara Driscoll, head of Tiffany's women’s division, conceives of and designs nearly all of the iconic leaded-glass lamps for which Louis Comfort Tiffany will long be remembered. Never publicly acknowledged, Clara struggles with her desire for artistic recognition and the seemingly insurmountable challenges that she faces as a professional woman. She also yearns for love and companionship.

This course will include an in-depth exploration of mindfulness, with an emphasis on how the practice of mindfulness can help steady us when life feels unstable. With a steadier mind, we can begin to relax into each moment, free from regret and worry. Each class will include guided meditation practice, teaching and Q & A, as well as optional homework. It is recommended, though not required, that you attend all three classes if possible. Please register for each session separately.
Ruth Langstrom is a clinical psychologist specializing in life coaching, with private offices in Warwick and New York City.
