Today with over 123,000 names on the national transplant waiting list—and another name added every 12 minutes—chances are that we all know someone leading an ordinary life that will take an extraordinary turn because of organ transplantation.
On Oct. 17 at 6pm the Albert Wisner Public Library invites the community to a celebration of life. Organ donor recipients, donors and the families of donors will share their life changing stories and experiences. Medical professionals will provide a discussion of the facts about organ donation and the amazing changes donations have made in the lives of their patients.
If you have considered becoming an organ donor the library urges you to come to this event.Location:AWPL Community RoomAge Group:Adult

Come join in The Acting for a Change Senior Improvisational Theater troupe! This invitation open to all seniors who want to experience the joys and wonders of improvisational theater. The skills of improv are something anyone can learn! Just join the group and then improvise your way to some fun…No prior experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate. No lines to learn! You don’t have to be “funny” to come to these sessions: but you will have fun! New members are always welcome.
The group will be led by Dr. Linda Richmond, a former actor and practicing psychologist with an interest in community drama groups who has a wealth of experience directing expressive drama groups.

An informal spinning group focusing on drop spindle yarn method from wool and other fibers. Beginners and more advanced spinners welcome. Bring your own spindle and fiber, or if you are new to this ancient craft, contact us ahead so we can provide "loaners" to you (a small fee for wool used will be collected as arranged in advance). Drop spindle spinning uses a lightweight spindle that is very portable, as opposed to a heavy and expensive spinning wheel. Co-sponsored by the Friends of Hathorn House Historical Society.
Email us ahead of the meeting if you are new and need the loan of a spindle: firstname.lastname@example.org; at your first session, beginner's sample of wool will be available for $5.00Location:AWPL Board RoomAge Group:Adult
