Our local blood supply has reached a critically low level, with under a two-day supply of O-negative, B-negative, and A-negative blood. Donors with O-negative blood type, or "universal donors," are especially encouraged to donate, as their blood can be used in emergencies. The entire donation process takes less than one hour and a single donation can be used to save multiple lives! For questions about eligibility to donate due to travel outside the U.S., medications or medical conditions, click here or call 1-800-688-0900.If you can help, please stop by the Library this Thursday and donate! Do you love browsing through cookbooks, trying new recipes, sampling new dishes? Then grab your apron and join the Library’s new Food for Thought Cookbook Club!
We pick the cookbook, you select and make a recipe at home, then bring it in to share. We will discuss the book -- the cooking process, what you liked or didn’t like about the recipe -- all while enjoying food out on our beautiful new patio! Registration in advance is required because space is limited. Please let us know what you are bringing ahead of time, so that recipes are not repeated. Please call 986-1047, ext. 5 to register.
