This course will include an in-depth exploration of mindfulness, with special emphasis on relaxation of both the body and the mind., Mindfulness – open, non-judgmental awareness – can allow us a deep sense of relaxation and peace, as we learn to let go of control for a moment and connect with whatever is happening just as it is. Each class will include guided meditation practice, teaching, and Q & A, as well as optional homework. It is recommended, though not required, that you attend all four classes if possible.
Ruth is a clinical psychologist specializing in life coaching, with private offices in Warwick and New York City. She practices meditation and attends retreats in the insight meditation tradition, under the guidance of Narayan Liebenson, one of the guiding teachers at Cambridge Insight Meditation Center and the Insight Meditation Society.
