    Allison Pataki is the New York Times bestselling author of THE QUEEN'S FORTUNE, THE TRAITOR'S WIFE, THE ACCIDENTAL EMPRESS, SISI: EMPRESS ON HER OWN, WHERE THE LIGHT FALLS, as well as the nonfiction memoir BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN PLACES and two children's books, NELLY TAKES NEW YORK and POPPY TAKES PARIS. Allison's novels have been translated into more than a dozen languages.     Join us on Railroad Avenue and meet 70 of the most distinguished authors and illustrators of children's books!  They are excited to meet their readers, chat about their work and show you their latest books, which will be available for autographing and purchase on-site. (Bring your own bag, Warwick!) Admission is free and the festival is open to all the young at heart.  Free children's concert at 12:00 on Railroad Green:  bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, if you like!  Therapy dogs will also be on hand to listen to children read their new books aloud, too.  A list of all participating authors and illustrators is on the Festival's website.

    Rain location:  Warwick Valley Middle School - 225 West St., Warwick - 11am - 4pm. Ample parking is available! 

    Get in on this lively celebration of children's literacy, presented by AWPL and sponsored by children's literacy champions Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes.  You don't want to miss it!

    John Ruszkiewicz of Pine Island shares memories of his service in Vietnam from his new book, My Vietnam Anecdotes, recalling some of his most memorable experiences during two tours of duty in 1966 and 1971. A native of the Black Dirt region, his service included instructing at West Point. After retirement from the Army in 1980 as a Lieutenant Colonel, he has operated his Pine Island farm and continued service to the community. He is President of the Drowned Lands Historical Society.
