    The Paper Bag Princess Puppet Show - Watch the story of The Paper Bag Princess, performed by the very talented Children's Dept. staff.  This is the story of a spunky princess, a prince and a fiery dragon.  Find out how this princess saves the day in this classic Robert Munsch story.  Pick up your craft supplies to make a dragon of your own!  Register beginning March 27 to reserve your craft supplies, and then enjoy the show!  Video released on Saturday, May 8.  For families.

    In the Garden - It's time to beautify our patio!  Please help us by planting a planter of various flowers.  Each family will be responsible for one planter, and then can decorate a pot, put a flower in it and take it home.  Socially-distanced gardening!  Mask and social distancing required.  Register beginning March 27 online or at the Children's desk. This program will take place on our River Birch Patio.  For families.

We will play outside, weather permitting, and our group is limited to 6 players for now. Everyone must wear a mask and bring their own set of dice to play. Sessions will be cancelled in bad weather.

    Nadia Hashimi is a pediatrician-turned-novelist who draws on her Afghan roots to craft internationally bestselling books for adults and young readers.  Her novels span generations and continents, taking on themes like forced migration, conflict, poverty, misogyny, colonialism and addiction.  Nadia is no stranger to Warwick:  her family owned Larry's Deli for years.  She will join us on Wednesday, May 12 to discuss her new novel, Sparks Like Stars (William Morrow 2021).  Copies of the book are available at the help Desk for registrants of the program, and copies are also available to place on hold through the RCLS catalog.

    Create a dragon's egg using thumb tacks and a Styrofoam egg.  You can use nail polish to paint the thumb tacks to create a custom-colored egg, or use the silver & gold thumbtacks as they are to make a metallic dragon's egg.  Either way, the results are spectacular!

    Join Melissa Shaw Smith to create crafts and decorations for a Day of Acceptance event to be held on Saturday, June 5th in Stanley-Deming Park.  It is presented by the Community Center, the Warwick Gay/Straight Alliance from WVHS and Wickham Works.  Please bring in any used bubble wrap mailers - e.g. Amazon Prime bags, bubble-lined yellow envelopes and everything in between, any size - for creating decorations.
