Bring mindfulness to all of your relationships! This practice gives us a new way to relate to all of our experiences with kindness, interest and without judgment. This is a four session class meeting n 10/3, 10/17, 10/31 and 11/14. You are encouraged to attend all four classes but each class will stand on its own.
The Pretty Committee will show you how to create beautiful tealight candle holders from old books. Please bring in a battery-operated tealight candle for this project.
Newburgh Chamber Music Ensemble performs "Romantic Music for a Sunday Afternoon," a concert which will feature light-hearted and delightful music by Dvorak, Telemann, Godard, Cui, and Nielsen. Performers are fine regional musicians, including violinist Carole Cowan, oboist Joel Evans, cellist Susan Seligman, and pianist Ruthanne Schempf. Colleagues in the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and at the State University of New York at New Paltz, these musicians have distinguished individual careers as well as a long history of collaboration.
This course will provide an introduction to ASL, the third most commonly-used language in the United States. The Manual Alphabet, deaf culture, basic vocabulary and grammar structure will be the program's focus, with the goal of acquiring the language on a conversational level.
This is an eight-week course; attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged.

Gardening with Native Plants for Birds: presented by Master Gardeners Melissa Peterson and Cecelia Lillard, this program provides insider information and tips about using native plants in our gardens and landscapes that are not only attractive but also help sustain our native and migrating bird populations. This program brought to you by Orange County Audubon.
In 2009, Audubon New York partnered with the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) to launch a American Kestrel recovery effort. This robin-sized falcon can be found throughout the state and are most common in meadows, pastures, and farm fields, but also live in cities and towns. Kestrels are cavity nesters, preferring holes in dead trees rather than building nests, and favor areas surrounded by large open areas with plenty of hunting perches nearby. This program will discuss ways to help increase their numbers.
