The Pretty Committee will show you how to make a coaster based on Bargello needlepoint designs. Bargello is a type of needlepoint embroidery consisting of upright flat stitches laid in a mathematical pattern to create motifs. The name originates from a series of chairs found in the Bargello palace in Florence, which have a "flame stitch" pattern.

Eric Sloane: Art & Americana

Artist Eric Sloane was a prominent guest in the Sugar Loaf community for years, and the annual "Eric Sloane Day" is still recalled by many. John Pennings of The Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum will present on the evolution of Sloane's evolution as an artist, and his best selling books about our agricultural heritage.
