The “forever” chemicals, PFAS and PFOA, have been much in the news lately. These chemicals, hazardous to human and animal health and the environment, have been found widely around the world, including in New York State. The EPA is currently considering making standards for these chemicals in drinking water more stringent. What are the dangers, and what can be done?

“The Forever Chemicals,” a film (26 minutes) produced by Detroit PBS, tells the story of communities and individuals in Michigan impacted by PFAS. A presentation afterward by Sustainable Warwick includes what governments and individuals can do.
