Help us get ready for the upcoming Warwick Children's Book Festival! Welcome our authors by helping to make gift bags full of homemade goodies. Help plan a craft for the children's tent too. This year, we have over 60 visiting authors so we'll need all the help we can get. There is no commitment to come every week, however you must register for each week you are attending so we make sure we have the room to social distance. We will cancel any week it rains, This year, we'll be making rock photo/nametag holders and book cover magnets! Earn 2 hours of volunteer credit for each session you attend!!

A fun time for all - learning about a favorite variety of wine while learning how to taste and appreciate your wine in a reusable, methodical way. Have you ever wondered about those people who can smell strawberries in their wine, or who talk about a wine’s “finish”? Or maybe you already feel comfortable tasting and ordering wine, but just want some practice with a like-minded group? Join this interactive session - on Zoom - where you practice techniques and language for assessing a wine:
- Visually
- Aromatically
- By flavor
...and then drawing some conclusions.
For this session, we'll all enjoy a Burgundy White (Chardonnay) available at Peck's Wine & Spirits in Warwick for $18.00: 2019 Domaine des Verchères Mâcon-Villages. Participants must provide their own wine. Please register in order to receive the Zoom link in advance.
About presenter Elissa McQuaid: from NY originally, I now work in the tech industry and live with my husband, daughter and fuzzy cat Peggy in the California Bay Area. I have my WSET Level 2 award in Wines (with distinction!) and am currently studying to be a Certified Specialist of Wine. Since 2019, I've been organizing events and sharing my knowledge and passion for wine with others through a series of educational tasting events such as: Introduction to Wine Tasting, Systematic Approach to Tasting, Bubbles & Brie (history and making of sparkling wine), and new topics on fortified and sweet wines and food pairings.
