The Gift: Finding the extraordinary in everyday living.
A masterful storyteller, Kathy Morley whisks the reader into another dimension through her own experiences with psychic phenomena, hypnosis, UFO's and channeling. As the plot unfolds, the reader may draw parallels in their lives previously missed or attributed to coincidences, when in truth the cosmos was the guiding light. The Gift chronicles a fascinating journey that highlights the capability of the higher self, transcending time and space.Location:AWPL Community RoomAge Group:Adult

The Power of the Dog (2021) Jane Campion’s Western psychological drama based on Thomas Savage's 1967 novel stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Charismatic rancher Phil Burbank inspires fear and awe in those around him. When his brother brings home a new wife and her son, Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love. The critically acclaimed, but intense, film covers themes such as love, grief, resentment, jealousy, social awkwardness, masculinity and closeted sexuality. The New Zealand born director, Campion would picked up an Oscar for Best Director (the third woman in Academy history). Rated R: 2 hours, 6 minutes.

Long-standing habits can be difficult to break. How often do you find yourself in the middle of an activity that you barely remember starting? Or engaged in an activity that you wish you hadn’t started? Because much of life is spent engaging in habitual behavior, establishing healthy habits is crucial to our well-being. By cultivating mindfulness, we can develop greater awareness of our habits. Join Anthony Gonzalez, a mental health counseling intern and student at SUNY New Paltz, for weekly discussions about using mindfulness to develop healthy habits.
